Topic: Branding is everything

How would you feel if you were served by a filthy waiter who looked as if he resided in a dumpsite? On the other hand imagine a young well dressed waitress coming to serve you in the nicest uniform you've ever seen...

Branding is central to successful foundation building in business and goes beyond attaining richies; it creates wealth and unforgettable exposure for your business. This is where logo design and the very layout of your letterheads and business cards matters more than you would have ever thought.

What would Nike be without the swoosh logo; or apple without the "apple" To stand out and become a global player your logos need to break across borders and be universally understandable as cluttered or over localised logowork can cause confusion. Many Chinese brands are struggling in this department however African entrepreneurs can retain their local names and heritage while playing in the big league. All that has to be done is to align your branding with globally understandable interfaces.

I believe in a better Africa; driven by African initiative and taking advantage of the flattening world.

Whao...but how can we come to terms to the fact that China ignores branding in favour of low priced economic products which at present, is fine with people esp. Africans.

Is doomsday on the way...i.e. the day, the one who heeds the Branding call first between China and India, wins?
